The Black Starlets have officially arrived in Rabat ahead of the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations and wasted no time in beginning preparations for the tournament with their first training session on Monday.

Upon arrival in the Moroccan capital, the Starlets participated in the mandatory Team Arrival Meeting organised by tournament officials. The session focused on key aspects of the competition, including the organisational structure of the tournament, rules and regulations, marketing protocols, digital media activities, and the conduct expected of team officials throughout the championship.

The meeting also provided participating teams with important operational guidelines as the countdown to the start of the tournament continues.

Following the briefing session, the Black Starlets proceeded to hold their first training session in Rabat, with the workout lasting approximately one hour and thirty minutes. The session formed part of the team’s preparations as Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical staff get ready for Ghana’s opening game.

There was positive news for the technical team as all players took part fully in training, with no injury concerns recorded. The players trained with high intensity and enthusiasm, demonstrating focus and readiness ahead of the continental showpiece.

The session featured tactical drills, possession exercises, and recovery work as the coaches continued to fine-tune the squad ahead of the tournament.

The Black Starlets arrived in Rabat after concluding their pre-tournament camping in Mohammedia, where they played one preparatory match with Mali to sharpen the team for the competition.

The Black Starlets remain fully focused on making a strong impression and securing qualification to the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
