Kris Srikkanth urged the Lucknow Super Giants’ management to drop Avesh Khan from the side ahead of their upcoming clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday, April 7, at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium. The discarded Team India speedster has been having a forgettable campaign with the ball in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. In six matches, he has picked up five wickets at an average of 45.80 and an economy rate of 11.08.

Srikkanth suggested that the Super Giants would be better served by going in with the spin-bowling duo of Manimaran Siddharth and Digvesh Singh Rathi.

“The only thing LSG should not do is play Avesh Khan. If you play Avesh Khan, the match is gone. He is a run-gifter who almost asks the opposition how many runs they want and gifts them. They should play both M Siddharth and Digvesh Rathi,” Srikkanth said in a video on his YouTube channel.

They have huge problems with the bat: Kris Srikkanth on LSG’s major concern

Srikkanth opined that the Super Giants have massive issues in the batting department, with the overseas troika of Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, and Aiden Markram failing to do justice to their potential. The former India opener also mentioned that the 29-year-old Himmat Singh has not been able to put pressure on the bowlers by playing aggressive cricket consistently.

“They have huge problems with the bat. Rishabh Pant is not scoring at all. People keep saying Bison but Mitchell Marsh has not been deadly. Pooran and Markram have just been okay,” said Srikkanth (via the aforementioned source).

“Himmat Singh is a good youngster, but he’s not a tearaway youngster. You can’t put him in the class with other youngsters doing well. Himmat Singh is not able to blast away. He is not terrorizing the bowlers. They should have got 25 extra runs vs MI. But Markram was bottled up in the end,” he added.
