In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) completed a double over Delhi Capitals (DC) with an eight-wicket victory on May 5 at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

After winning the toss, DC opted to bat first and posted 155/7 in their 20 overs. Sameer Rizvi led the scoring with an unbeaten 40 off 24 balls, including four sixes. He was well supported by Tristan Stubbs, as the pair stitched together a 65-run partnership for the sixth wicket in 47 balls. For CSK, Noor Ahmad was the standout bowler, returning figures of 2/22 in three overs.

In response, CSK comfortably chased down the target in 17.3 overs, finishing at 159/2. Sanju Samson starred with the bat, remaining unbeaten on 87 off 52 deliveries, which included seven fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 167.31.

With this victory, CSK moved up to sixth place in the points table with 10 points, while DC slipped to seventh with eight points.

The CSK bowlers choked the DC batting lineup early in the innings, ensuring the hosts never gained momentum during the powerplay. Crucial breakthroughs at the top allowed CSK to tighten their grip on the game. Akeal Hosein struck first by dismissing KL Rahul, while Mukesh Choudhary removed Pathum Nissanka soon after. In the middle overs, Noor Ahmad further dented DC’s progress by getting rid of Nitish Rana and Karun Nair cheaply.
