In a high-scoring thriller, Rajasthan Royals pulled off a clinical six-wicket win over Punjab Kings in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at Mullanpur on Tuesday, April 28.

Asked to bat first, PBKS posted a formidable 222/4 in their 20 overs. Priyansh Arya set the tone early with a blistering 29 off 11, while Prabhsimran Singh anchored the innings with a steady 59. Contributions from Cooper Connolly and skipper Shreyas Iyer kept the momentum going before Marcus Stoinis provided a late surge with an unbeaten 62 off just 22 balls.

In response, RR came out firing in the chase. Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 27) and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (43 off 16) gave them a flying start, putting PBKS bowlers under immediate pressure. Despite Yuzvendra Chahal picking up three wickets in the middle overs to keep PBKS in the contest, RR never lost control of the chase.

Donovan Ferreira then anchored the finish with a composed unbeaten 52, while Shubham Dubey’s quickfire 31* ensured RR crossed the line at 228/4 in just 19.2 overs, thereby winning the game with four balls and six wickets to spare.

The win capped off a dominant batting display from Rajasthan, who chased down a massive total with relative ease, underlining their depth and firepower.
