Rehana Mahama Hits 26 Goals to Win Golden Boot in Northern Regional Women’s Division 1B League

Rehana Mahama delivered a sensational performance in the Northern Regional Women’s Division 1B League, finishing the season as top scorer with an astonishing 26 goals.

The prolific forward, who plays for Goldem Maidens, was in outstanding form throughout the campaign, leading the scoring charts and playing a key role for her side. Close behind her was teammate Azara Yakubu of Dakpema Ladies, who also enjoyed an impressive season, netting 16 goals to finish second on the top scorers’ list.

Both players featured in all 18 matches of the league, highlighting their consistency and importance to the attacking strength for their clubs over the course of the season.

Rahama Haruna also of Dakpema Ladies finished third also on 16 goals, while Mardia Abdlai, Meimunatu Abdallah and Zeinab Mustapha of Jiriguyili Ladies, Northern Queens and Golden Maidens respectively, all scored 12 goals each.

In the individual honours category, Azara Yakubu emerged as the player with the highest number of Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, collecting an impressive ten accolades over the course of the season. Mariam Naporow of Jiriguyili Ladies had 6 MVP Awards throughout the season.

Rashida Azimpaga of Yendi Gbewaa Ladies, Rehana Mahama of Golden Maidens, Samira Soale of Oxford Sporting Club and Zeinab Mustapaha each recorded five MVP awards, underlining their consistent performances.

The season’s statistics reflect the high level of competition and the emergence of exciting attacking talents in the Northern Regional Women’s Division 1B League, as players continue to showcase their quality and contribute to the growth of women’s football in the region.
