Rajasthan Royals (RR) moved to No. 2 on the points table with their win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 25.

A fit-again Pat Cummins won the toss on Saturday and opted to field first. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed in the third over, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was firing on all cylinders from the other end. Dhruv Jurel joined Sooryavanshi in the middle and the duo forged a 112-run stand off 62 balls. The former scored 51 off 35 balls. Donovan Ferreira also chipped in nicely with a 16-ball 33.

However, the star of the show was Sooryavanshi, who took the SRH bowlers to the cleaners. The youngster belted five fours and 12 sixes before getting dismissed for 103 off 37 balls. His whirlwind knock set the foundation for Rajasthan to post a massive 228/6.

Jofra Archer could have dismissed Travis Head off the first ball of the second innings, but Dhruv Jurel missed a regulation chance. However, the England pacer got his man four balls later. This wicket brought Ishan Kishan to the crease. He joined forces with Abhishek Sharma, and the duo pulverised the RR bowlers. They added 132 runs in 55 balls to bring the required run rate down substantially.

Abhishek was dismissed for 57, while Kishan made 74. Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy forged a 53-run stand off 31 balls to take the visitors towards the target. In the end, the Sunrisers won the match by five wickets, with nine balls to spare. Rajasthan have themselves to blame, having dropped four catches in the second innings.

Key Moments from Match 36 of IPL 2026:

15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi slams 35-ball century

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had scored a 34-ball century last season at this venue against the Gujarat Titans. This time, he smashed a 35-ball ton, with Sunrisers Hyderabad being on the receiving end. The 15-year-old hit the ball to all parts of the ground, making it very difficult for the bowlers to restrict the run-scoring. In the end, Sooryavanshi slammed 103 off 38 balls, hitting five fours and 12 sixes.

Not once. Not twice. THREE times 👀

Pat Cummins hits the ground running with the ball

Pat Cummins, playing his first match of IPL 2026, had a great outing with the ball. While his teammates were being launched to all parts of the ground, the Australian skipper managed to hold his own. He also dismissed his opposite number, Riyan Parag, with a peach of a yorker. In the end, Cummins finished with excellent figures of 1/27 in four overs on a batting-friendly surface.

First game, first wicket, and it’s the big one 👊

Ishan Kishan-Abhishek Sharma duo rules the roost

Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma played some brave cricket and showed exactly why they are in the national team in the shortest format, even in such a competitive environment in Indian cricket. They rode their luck and eventually added 132 runs off 55 balls against a strong bowling attack like the Royals. Kishan’s 74 came off 31 balls, while Abhishek faced 29 deliveries for his 57.
