The Lucknow Super Giants take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 38 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The Suoer Giants come into this clash on the back of four consecutive losses, and are in dire need of points to salvage their season. They were unable to chase down a score of 160 after doing well to restrict the Rajasthan Royals. Mitchell Marsh notched up his first half-century of the season, but the batting unit as a whole has been dismal this season. They have played three games in Lucknow and have lost all three of them.

The Knight Riders come off a one-week break after notching up their first win of the season against the Rajasthan Royals. Varun Chakravarthy was back at his best, picking up the Player of the Match award with figures of 3/14, and Rinku Singh scored his first half-century of the season. They will be looking to accumulate as many points as possible, and will be bolstered by the reported return of Matheesha Pathirana, who is set to feature in this clash.

The two teams met at the Eden Gardens on April 9, where the Lucknow Super Giants emerged victorious. The Knight Riders put up a strong total of 181/4, with Ajinkya Rahane scoring 41, Angkrish Raghuvanshi scoring 45, and late fireworks from Cameron Green and Rovman Powell. LSG chased it down with three wickets to spare off the last ball of the innings, with Mukul Choudhary scoring a brilliant 54 off just 27 balls to take the Super Giants home. Ayush Badoni also scored a 34-ball 54, setting the platform for Mukul’s fireworks in the end.
