The Punjab Kings beat the Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs in Match 29 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.

Being put into bat, the Kings were handed an early blow when Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed by Mohammed Shami in the first over. Cooper Connolly then came in but started slowly as Priyansh Arya teed off. The Kings finished the powerplay at 63/1, with Connolly on 19 off 22 balls. Connolly then went after the Lucknow bowlers, as Aray carried on. The pair put on 182 runs off just 80 as they took the hapless visiting team’s bowlers apart.

Connolly then fell for 87 off 46 balls, shortly after which Arya was dismissed for 93 off just 37 balls. Late efforts from Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh ensured the Kings reached a whopping 254/7 in their 20 overs, hitting a whopping 21 sixes in the innings. Prince Yadav bowled brilliantly as he finished with figures of 2/25 off his four overs, the only LSG bowler to go at under 10 runs per over.

The Lucknow Super Giants started well in the powerplay as Ayush Badoni opened the batting alongside Mitchell Marsh. The pair put on 61 in the first six overs before Badoni fell for 35. From that point on, the Lucknow innings never got going as Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled brilliantly as they tightened the grip on the LSG batters.

The game looked out of reach for the Lucknow Super Giants, but despite the tight bowling from the Kings, they finished the game at 200/5. Rishabh Pant scored a 23-ball 43; Aiden Markram scored a late 22-ball 42 batting at number five, while Marsh scored a 28-ball 40. With this victory, the Kings extend their unbeaten start to the 2026 Indian Premier League and are comfortably sitting at the top of the table with 11 points in six games. The Super Ginats find themselves in eighth place, having lost their third game on the bounce.
