IPL 2026: Is Shubman Gill playing in DC vs GT Match 14?
SHARE

The Delhi Capitals will be taking on Gujarat Titans in Match 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in what promises to be a cracking contest at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. With both teams heading into the clash with contrasting momentum, the encounter is expected to deliver high-intensity action.

Delhi Capitals have been clinical this season, winning both of their matches so far. They sit comfortably in the top four after successfully chasing down targets in both games. In their previous outing, they stunned Mumbai Indians by six wickets.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, are enduring a tough start to their campaign. With two losses in as many games, Shubman Gill’s side is struggling to find momentum. Despite a fighting 73 from Sai Sudharsan in their previous match against Rajasthan Royals, the Titans fell short by six runs.

With Delhi riding high on confidence and Gujarat desperate to open their account, an exciting battle awaits between the two sides.

DC vs GT: Toss Update

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first against Gujarat Titans. The Capitals have chased brilliantly in their first two games, and that was the reason for choosing to bowl first, said Axar at the toss.

Shubman Gill included in the Playing XI vs DC

Gujarat Titans’ regular captain Shubman Gill returned to the playing XI after missing the match against Rajasthan Royals due to a neck injury. He will captain the side, and will play as an opener. He replaced Kumar Kushagra in the playing XI.

DC vs GT: What did the captains say?

Axar Patel, DC captain

“We will bowl first. We’ve chased well in the last two matches and this is a fresh wicket. It’s been raining; there could be some moisture. Bowl first, have a look at the wicket, restrict them and chase down the score. We look at the match-ups, making it as difficult as possible for the batters and choose the best possible bowlers. Same XI for us.”

Shubman Gill, GT captain

“It’s much better (on his neck issue), it’s something similar (to what happened in the Test agianst South Africa). We were going to bat first anyway, if the weather stays this way, there’ll be no dew in the second innings. It’s all about assessing the conditions, we have good opening partnerships (with Sai Sudharasan) and hopefully, we’ll put runs on the board. It’s all about clicking in one game, we lost the last game by a small margin. Hopefully, we’ll sort out our batting. KK (Kumar Kushagra) sits out for me, rest is unchanged.“
