Former Indian captain MS Dhoni recently had a friendly interaction with IIT JEE and NEET aspirants, where he shared valuable advice on dealing with setbacks in competitive exams. He emphasised the importance of maintaining the right mindset and staying resilient when facing initial failures. Dhoni encouraged students to view setbacks as learning opportunities rather than obstacles.

When asked about his own failures and what motivated him to keep going, Dhoni explained that a second chance should always be used wisely. He highlighted the importance of analyzing past mistakes, learning from them, and making improvements to perform better in the future.

“If life is giving you a second chance, then utilise it. You see your shortcomings, you go towards that reason, and you try to rectify it. Hard work counts only when you are fully exhausted, everyone does hard work till they are exhausted. How much hard work you did after that, that defines you,” Dhoni said on Allen Online.

Zaheer shares his thoughts on CSK’s transitional phase

Dhoni has always been a player admired by people of all age groups, from children to elders. He has served as a great motivator in many lives, inspiring individuals through his perseverance and calm leadership to achieve new heights. Speaking about his current situation, Dhoni has been unavailable for CSK during the initial weeks of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to a calf strain. This injury has ruled him out of the first two weeks of the tournament.

In his absence, CSK entrusted wicketkeeping duties to Sanju Samson for the first three matches. Unfortunately, the five-time champions struggled, losing all three games and currently sitting at the bottom of the points table. They are set to face Delhi Capitals in their fourth match on Saturday, April 11, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK are hopeful of Dhoni’s return soon, which would provide a significant boost to the team and could help them regain momentum and return to winning ways.
