The Rajasthan Royals beat the Gujarat Titans by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in match 9 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Rajasthan Royals put on 210/6 in their 20 overs. The Royals started briskly, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal both getting runs, putting up a partnership of 70 off just 38 balls for the first wicket. Vaibhav was then dismissed for 31 by Rashid Khan, who stood-in as skipper for Shubman Gill. In next, Dhruv Jurel stitched a 56-run stand with Jaiswal before the latter fell to Kagiso Rabada for 55.

Jurel carried on, scoring 75 off 42 balls, with brilliant strokeplay and controlled aggression. His knock was the backbone of the Royals innings. Rabada was the pick of the bowlers, picking up two wickets.

In response, the Titans started briskly, with Sai Sudharsan and Kumar Kushagra stitching a 78-run opening stand. Kushagra was dismissed by Riyan Parag, while Sudharsan kept going. The wicket of Kushagra opened the floodgates as Ravi Bishnoi picked up three wickets in two overs to dent the Titans’ innings. Jos Buttler looked to be picking up form, but he fell to Nandre Burger for 26.

Bishoni then picked up one more, finishing with 4/41. With 50 needed off the last 31 deliveries, Kagiso Rabada joined Rashid Khan to stitch a 43-run stand, which went in vain as Tushar Deshpande held his nerve to defend 11 runs off the final over.

Here are the most important stats from GT vs RR, Match 9:
