Delhi Capitals (DC) continued their winning streak with a convincing six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday, April 4 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. MI posted 162/6 in 20 overs, with Rohit Sharma scoring 35, while Ryan Rickelton, Sherfane Rutherford, and Tilak Varma fell cheaply.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav led from the front with a 51 off 36 balls, including three fours and two sixes, while Naman Dhir added 28 and both Mitchell Santner (28*) and Corbin Bosch (11* off 4) provided late impetus. For DC, Mukesh Kumar was the standout bowler with figures of 2/26 in three overs.

In response, DC chased down the target comfortably, finishing at 164/4 with 11 balls to spare. KL Rahul departed early for 1, and Nitish Rana was run out for a duck, but Pathum Nissanka played a crucial knock of 44 off 30 balls.

The star of the chase was Sameer Rizvi, who continued his fine form with a brilliant 90 off 51 deliveries, smashing seven fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 176.47, while David Miller remained unbeaten on 21 to guide the team home. For MI, Deepak Chahar, Mitchell Santner, and Corbin Bosch picked up a wicket each but failed to stop DC’s charge. With this win, DC moved to the top of the points table, while MI slipped to sixth with one loss in two matches.

Here are the most important stats from Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians:

  • Sameer Rizvi’s 90 vs Mumbai Indians is the third-highest score by an Impact Player in Indian Premier League history.
  • It was only the second win in the last seven matches for Delhi Capitals against MI.
  • This is also just DC’s second win in six games at Arun Jaitley Stadium since 2025 (the other came via Super Over vs Rajasthan Royals).
  • Rizvi’s 90 is the third-highest score by a DC batter vs MI in IPL.
  • His seven sixes are the joint-most by a DC batter vs MI, alongside Rishabh Pant (2019) and Tristan Stubbs (2024).
  • Deepak Chahar has 16 wickets in the first over, the third-most in IPL history.
  • KL Rahul has scored 160 runs vs Chahar without being dismissed, the most by a batter against a bowler in IPL.
  • Rohit Sharma has hit 51 sixes vs DC in IPL.
  • Kuldeep Yadav played his 100th IPL match.
  • Jasprit Bumrah completed 150 matches for Mumbai Indians.
