Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will kick off their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 5 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, April 1. LSG missed out on a playoff berth last season and will be determined to start strong this time around. The franchise has largely retained its core, making only a few strategic changes during the off-season.

The opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh brings both stability and aggression, having dominated opposition attacks in the previous edition. Markram, in particular, has been in sublime touch in Indian conditions, showcasing his class with consistent performances, including in global tournaments like the T20 World Cup.
At No. 3, Rishabh Pant is expected to anchor the innings. Returning to the T20 format after a gap, Pant will look to combine his experience with his trademark innovative stroke play. Notably, he produced a century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the previous season, although it came in a losing cause, highlighting his ability to single-handedly influence games.
