Tamale Super Ladies secure upset victory over Ampem Darkoa Ladies
On a thrilling Saturday afternoon at the Tolon Astro Turf, Tamale Super Ladies emerged victorious in a tightly contested encounter, defeating Ampem Darkoa Ladies 1-0. Ampem Darkoa Ladies, a formidable force in the league, looked dangerous in the opening stages, applying pressure with quick passes and fluid attacking movements. However, the Tamale Super Ladies’ defense stood firm, with their goalkeeper making a couple of crucial saves to keep the scoreline level.

FC Savannah looked lively going forward, pressing high and creating early chances, while Ashtown Ladies relied on quick counterattacks to trouble the defense. The breakthrough came early in the first half when FC Savannah capitalized on a defensive lapse. A well-worked move from an attacker opened space in the attacking third, allowing Savannah to find the back of the net and take a 1–0 lead courtesy of Zulaiha Iddrisu in the 4th minute.
Ashtown Ladies responded positively and pushed forward in search of an equalizer. FC Savannah’s defense held firm to maintain their advantage going into halftime, but Sharifa Yakubu’s 23rd-minute penalty brought the scores level.
The second half started with increased intensity. However, FC Savannah quickly regained momentum and restored their lead later in the half. A decisive attacking move resulted in their second goal of the match, putting them ahead 2–1, thanks to Zulaiha Iddrisu’s 67th-minute individual brilliance.
