Rajasthan Royals (RR) shared a grand video, welcoming Ravindra Jadeja back into their setup ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

The star all-rounder burst onto the scene with some stunning performances for the Royals under Shane Warne’s captaincy. He was part of the Royals’ side which won the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. 18 years later, Jadeja would want to help the Rajasthan-based franchise end their title drought.

Jadeja returned to the Rajasthan Royals for the IPL 2026 season in a major trade with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The Men in Yellow took Sanju Samson in their side from the Royals in exchange of Jadeja and England all-rounder Sam Curran. The Saurashtra all-rounder was traded for INR 14 crore, taking a pay cut from his previous INR 18 crore salary at CSK.

In the last season, the Royals had a forgettable campaign. In 14 matches, they registered four wins and 10 defeats. They finished ninth on the points table, only above CSK.

How has Jadeja fared in IPL?

Jadeja retired from T20I cricket after helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup. The 37-year-old has, however, continued playing in the IPL. He has played 254 matches in the cash-rich league, scoring 3260 runs at an average of 27.86 and a strike rate of 130.25. With the ball, he has picked up 170 wickets at an average of 30.52 and an economy rate of 7.67.
