Medeama SC saw their grip at the summit of the Premier League loosen further after being held to a goalless draw by Swedru All Blacks on Sunday at the Swedru Sports Stadium.

In a tense and closely contested encounter, both sides struggled to convert their limited opportunities, ultimately settling for a share of the spoils.

The result leaves the Tarkwa-based outfit still top of the table with 46 points, but their once-comfortable cushion has now been trimmed to a single point. Reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars FC are breathing down their necks in second place with 45 points, intensifying the pressure at the summit.

Champions Bibiani Gold Stars FC have surged to within touching distance of the Premier League summit after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

The Miners’ latest triumph marks a fourth consecutive league win, underlining their growing momentum at a decisive stage of the campaign. With 45 points, Gold Stars now trail leaders Medeama SC by just a single point, firmly inserting themselves into what is rapidly becoming a thrilling title race.

Gold Stars made a bright start at home, asserting early pressure that paid dividends in the 15th minute. Samuel Atta Kumi, continuing his impressive run of form, found the breakthrough to ignite celebrations among the home faithful.

Hearts of Oak responded with determination and restored parity through Henry Kwaku Boateng, setting up a tense and evenly balanced contest. The Phobians showed resilience and composure, but the defending champions maintained their intensity in search of a decisive moment.

That moment arrived late in the game when Augustine Boakye struck the winner, sending the home crowd into raptures and sealing a vital three points.

The result leaves Hearts of Oak in third place with 40 points, still within reach of the summit but now facing increased pressure as the title race tightens.

Kotoko frustrated; Vision show grit

Asante Kotoko were left frustrated after a goalless stalemate against a resilient Vision FC at the Baba Yara Stadium. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Kotoko failed to break down Vision, who played the final 21 minutes with ten men following Mohammed Awudu’s dismissal. The Porcupine Warriors remain fourth, seven points off the summit.

Dreams, Hohoe boost survival hopes

Dreams FC reignited their campaign with a crucial 1-0 victory over Aduana FC at the Tuba Astro Turf.  Captain John Antwi’s 67th-minute strike secured Dreams’ first win in six matches, lifting them to 11th, while Aduana’s title push suffered a setback as they slipped eight points off top spot.

Elsewhere, Hohoe United strengthened their survival bid with a hard-fought 1-0 win over FC Samartex 1996. Kekeli Attor’s early second-half goal proved decisive as the Timber Giants’ away struggles resurfaced.

Holy Stars shine; Chelsea snatch late point

Basake Holy Stars FC extended their impressive home run with a narrow victory over Heart of Lions, who were reduced to ten men early on. Prince Tweneboah’s strike sealed back-to-back home wins and pushed Holy Stars further clear of relegation danger.

At the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea rescued a dramatic 1-1 draw against Young Apostles. Richmond Opoku had given the visitors the lead, but Benjamin Abaidoo struck deep into stoppage time to deny Apostles a vital away victory.

Bechem, Karela United share spoils

Bechem United and Karela United played out a tense 0-0 draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. The Hunters finished with ten men after Rasco Abassah London’s late red card, but Karela failed to capitalise. The result leaves Karela seventh on 35 points, while Bechem drop to 12th.
