Four Ghanaian football administrators have successfully completed a two-day West African Football Union (WAFU Zone B) training workshop for General Coordinators (GCs) held in Porto-Novo, the official capital of Benin.

James Essilfie, Enoch Agyare Addo, Caroline Anyanful and Clara Baidoo represented Ghana at the intensive workshop, joining fellow officials from across the sub-region to enhance their expertise in match coordination and tournament management.

The training programme, organised by West African Football Union Zone B, concluded on Friday, February 27, 2026. It formed part of efforts to equip newly appointed General Coordinators with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to effectively manage competitions within their respective zones.

In total, 33 officials from all seven member associations of WAFU Zone B participated in the workshop, alongside invited representatives from other regional zones who also benefited from the capacity-building workshop.

Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering the core responsibilities of a General Coordinator, stakeholder expectations, matchday operations, the Competitions Management System (CMS) and crisis management strategies amongst others. A practical training session was also held at the technical centre of the Beninese Football Association (FEBEFOOT), allowing participants to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting.

The workshop is aimed at preparing the newly- trained General Coordinators for future regional and continental tournaments, while also empowering them to replicate and strengthen similar administrative structures within their domestic leagues.
