President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku calls on Northern Regional Minister to deepen collaboration

President  Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Ali Adolf John, in Tamale, ahead of the final leg of his tour of the three Northern Regions.

The visit formed part of the President’s broader stakeholder engagement agenda aimed at strengthening collaboration and accelerating football development across the country.

President Simeon-Okraku expressed his sincere appreciation to the Minister for the warm reception and explained that his presence in the region was primarily to engage football stakeholders and deepen partnerships that support the growth of the game.

He emphasised that the Football Association remains resolute in championing the cause of the youth, noting that all stakeholders share a collective responsibility to create opportunities for young people in the Northern Region and Ghana as a whole. According to the President, football remains a powerful tool for youth development, social cohesion and national unity.

President Simeon-Okraku further underscored the importance of a healthy and collaborative relationship between the Football Association, government and local authorities, stressing that such cooperation is essential if football is to thrive sustainably in the region and across the country.

On his part, Honourable Ali Adolf John welcomed the GFA President and expressed delight at the visit, reaffirming his personal passion for football and commitment to its development.

The Minister pledged to give football significant attention in Tamale and the wider Northern Region, recognising its impact on youth empowerment and community development.

He assured the President of his full support and indicated that he would work closely with District Chief Executives to ensure greater backing for grassroots football initiatives across the region.

President Simeon-Okraku was led to the meeting by the Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Rhyzo, and members of his Executive Committee, as he officially commenced activities in the region.

The Northern Region visit follows the successful completion of the President’s tours of the Upper West and Upper East Regions.
