Matchday 21 of the Premier League delivered a blend of late drama, frustration for title hopefuls and vital wins in the survival race across the country on Sunday February 1, 2026.

Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw by a disciplined Bechem United side at the University of Ghana Stadium, missing the chance to fully capitalise on dropped points above them.

The Phobians dominated large spells, striking the post early through Abdul Aziz Afranie and piling on late pressure, but Bechem’s resilience earned them a deserved point. Hearts remain fourth on 36 points, level with Bibiani Gold Stars and Aduana FC, while Bechem sit 12th, three points clear of the drop zone.

Bibiani Gold Stars snatched a dramatic stoppage-time victory at DUN’s Park, as defender Kelvin Oppong struck deep into added time to secure a 1-0 win over Swedru All Blacks.

The defending champions had struggled to break down a well-organised All Blacks side for much of the contest, but Oppong’s late intervention ended their goal drought and preserved their strong home form.

Aduana FC also failed to seize the moment in the title race, settling for a frustrating goalless draw against ten-man FC Samartex at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

Despite dominating proceedings and creating several chances, the Fire Club could not find a breakthrough, leaving them third on the table after missing the opportunity to close the gap at the summit.

Basake Holy Stars boosted their survival hopes with a commanding 2-0 home win over Berekum Chelsea at the AAK II Sports Arena.

First-half goals from Prince Opoku (penalty) and an own goal from Michael Mensah sealed a sixth straight home victory, lifting Holy Stars to 13th and dragging Chelsea into the relegation zone.

Karela United ended their winless run with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hohoe United at the Tamale Stadium.

Substitute Solomon Aboagye struck late to settle the contest, easing pressure on Karela and moving them up to eighth, while Hohoe United remain bottom and deep in relegation trouble.

Young Apostles also found relief at the Wenchi Sports Stadium, ending a six-game winless streak with a comfortable 3-0 win over Eleven Wonders.

Hussein Issah netted a brace, with Kingsford Agyemang adding the third, pushing Apostles into 12th place. Eleven Wonders’ struggles continued as they remain rooted to the bottom, with survival hopes fading fast.
