The reconstituted Management Committee and Technical Team of Ghana’s national male Under-20 side, the Black Satellites, have held their first official meeting as preparations begin for upcoming international assignments later in the year.

The meeting took place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the headquarters of the Football Association and was chaired by the Management Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abu-Hassan Mahamadu (Rhyzo).

Alhaji Rhyzo, who also serves as Chairman of the Northern Region Football Association and is a member of the GFA Executive Council, formally welcomed the newly reconstituted members and charged them to approach their roles with dedication, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.

In his address, the chairman encouraged the committee and technical team to justify the confidence and trust reposed in them by the leadership of the Football Association, stressing the importance of teamwork and long-term planning in rebuilding a competitive Black Satellites side.

Although the Black Satellites have no immediate international engagement until after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place in North America in the summer, the meeting focused on early strategic discussions around preparations, planning and the key ingredients required to deliver a successful qualification campaign when competitive action resumes.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu attended the meeting alongside members of his backroom staff, as technical matters and alignment with management were central to the discussions.

Other management members including Eastern Region RFA Chairman Lindford Boadu Asamoah, Nations FC President, Divine Kyei, Hearts of Oak’s Alhaji Amadu Brimah ( Akanbi), National Teams Director Alex Asante and administrative officer Joseph Teteh Zutah were in attendance.

The maiden meeting marked an important first step in laying a solid foundation for the Black Satellites’ future, with both management and technical leadership aligned on early planning, structure and preparation as the team looks ahead to its next competitive cycle.
