The U15 Girls Regional Colts League has kicked off successfully in the Eastern Region, marking an encouraging start to the grassroots women’s football season under the FIFA League Development Programme in the Region.

The opening ceremony was graced by FIFA Technical Expert, Thubaelihle Bridgette Sibandda, RFA Coordinator, Daasebre Adu Asare, and Women’s Development officer Jennifer Amankwa Sarpong who performed the ceremonial kick-off, officially signaling the start of the competition.

Ms. Thubaelihle’s presence highlighted FIFA’s continued support for youth and women’s football development in Ghana.

All Matchday One fixtures were played as scheduled, with teams delivering competitive and spirited performances across the various centres.

Valued Girls FC opened their campaign with a convincing 3–0 victory over Solid Rock FC, while Unick FC edged past Rootz Sistaz FC with a narrow 1–0 win.

Eufold Ladies FC also recorded a hard-fought 1–0 triumph against Kotoku Rush Ladies FC, and Okyeman Girls FC rounded off the day with an emphatic 3–0 win over Obiri Mma FC.

The successful completion of the opening round reflects the growing organization and commitment to grassroots football development in the Eastern Region.

The U15 Girls Regional Colts League is designed to provide young female players with regular competitive football, while instilling discipline, teamwork and technical growth from an early age.

With the competition now underway, attention shifts to the upcoming fixtures as teams continue their quest for development and success in a league that promises to shape the future of women’s football in Ghana.
