The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 is all set to get underway in  Navi Mumbai on Friday, with the defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the season opener at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The season will be particularly interesting from the perspective that the tournament will be followed by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup later this year and the Indian side will be keeping a close tab on the senior stars as well as emerging contenders. The tournament has been shifted from its previous February-March calendar by a month and will also see two double-headers for the first time during the group stage.
