Black Starlets head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has named an unchanged starting XI for the much-anticipated WAFU B U17 Boys Championship final against hosts Ivory Coast. The tactician has kept faith with the side that secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Nigeria in the semi-final.

Goalkeeper Solomon Kesse will once again man the posts, shielded by a reliable backline of Mujahid Osman, Kingsley Fosu, Rashoidan Yakubu, and Gabriel Denyinah. In midfield, the quartet of Augustine Appiah, Michael Awuli, Mark Kagawa, and Joseph Narbi will be tasked with dictating play and breaking down the Elephants’ resistance.

Upfront, Clement Agyei will partner the in-form Robinho Yao Gavi, who has been Ghana’s talisman in the tournament. With three goals to his name, Gavi has become the nightmare of defenders and has expressed confidence in delivering once more on the big stage. “I feel good, I’m confident, and I believe I can score in the final. My target is to help the team win and also fight for the goal king title,” he declared.

The Starlets will be aiming to avenge their earlier group stage defeat to Ivory Coast, but with momentum on their side and a firing frontline, expectations are high.
