The Catch Them Young referees selected for the 2025 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U-17 Colts Championship have intensified their preparations as the nation gears up for one of Ghana’s premier youth football tournaments.

The officiating team, comprising 10 centre referees and 10 assistant referees, has been engaged in a rigorous program of tutorials and on-field practical sessions designed to sharpen their knowledge of the Laws of the Game and ensure top-quality officiating throughout the competition.

Set for September 19–27, 2025, the nine-day tournament will take place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, featuring U-17 teams from all ten Regional Football Associations alongside the two GFA Elite Academies.

Now in its fifth edition, the KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U-17 Colts Championship continues to serve as a premier platform for identifying and nurturing Ghana’s next generation of football stars. Talent scouts and national team coaches are expected to be in attendance, seeking promising players for Ghana’s junior national sides and beyond.

GFA Referees Manager, Alex Kotey, praised the group’s dedication, noting that “the Catch Them Young referees represent the future of Ghanaian officiating, and their readiness for this tournament is a testament to the success of the program.”

With both players and referees meticulously prepared, the football community is eagerly anticipating a tournament that will showcase emerging stars on the pitch and rising talent with the whistle, underscoring the GFA’s holistic approach to youth football development.
