Match Day 3 of the Elite U-15 Boys Colts Championship lived up to expectations with thrilling encounters, goals galore, and surprising upsets across both groups. The young stars showcased their talent and determination as the battle for supremacy intensified ahead of Match Day 4.

In Group A, Western Region secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Upper East Region thanks to Prince Koffie’s decisive penalty strike.

The Elite Academy based at Prempeh College, Kumasi, was held to a goalless draw by Volta Region, but the Volta boys kept their composure to edge a 4-3 win on penalties.

The game of the group came later in the afternoon when Northern Region staged a brilliant comeback to beat Greater Accra 2-1. Roland Ankrah gave Greater Accra the lead in the first half, but skipper Abubakar Kamil equalized after the break before Shamsudeen Sulemana sealed a memorable victory for Northern Region.

Over in Group B, Eastern Region stole the headlines with a commanding 5-0 win over Central Region. Nomo Owen, who scooped his second straight Man of the Match award, netted a brace, with Francis Ametorwodo, Sakyi Kingsford, and Kyeremeh Wisdom completing the rout.

Ashanti Region went a step further by smashing GFA Elite Academy Bolga 8-0, with Benjamin Owusu Ansah hitting a hat trick, Kumbabel Charles Boateng bagging a brace, and Nathaniel Owusu, Abdul Aziz Issah, and Derrick Antwi adding a goal each.

The day ended with a shock result as bottom-placed Upper West Region recorded their first victory, defeating high-flying Brong Ahafo 1-0 courtesy of a Yahaya Kamal strike.

With these results, the competition is heating up as teams jostle for qualification to the next stage. Fans can expect more drama and excitement when Match Day 4 kicks off tomorrow, with every point now proving crucial in both groups.
