Eastern Region FA Successfully Concludes Second Season of Free Licence D Course for Colts Coaches

The Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA) has successfully completed the second edition of the Free Licence D Coaching Course for Colts club coaches, marking yet another milestone in grassroots football development in the region.

The week-long training program, held at the Koforidua Sports Stadium, brought together thirty juvenile coaches from various districts within the region. Participants were taken through both theoretical and practical modules focused on child development in football, injury prevention, grassroots coaching principles, and basic football tactics and game understanding.

The course, initiated and fully funded by the GFA, forms part of its broader agenda to empower juvenile coaches with the technical knowledge and skills required to nurture the next generation of football talent in Ghana. The initiative reflects the GFA’s firm commitment to strengthening the foundation of football at the community level.

Addressing fellow participants at the closing ceremony, ERFA Chairman Linford Asamoah Boadu, who enrolled for the course as a participant, commended the GFA for sustaining the initiative and praised the dedication shown by the coaches throughout the week. He emphasized that better coaching at the grassroots level would ultimately improve the quality of football at the national level.

With the successful completion of this second edition, the Eastern Region has now trained 60 Colts coaches under the GFA Free Licence D Coaching Program. The ERFA has pledged to continue working closely with the GFA to expand similar training opportunities across the region in the coming years.
