The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vice-captain Jitesh Sharma smacked back-to-back sixes off Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Kyle Jamieson in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.Ā

The Kiwi pacer came to bowl the 17th over of the match with Jitesh and Liam Livingstone at the crease. On the first ball of the over, Jitesh played a stunning scoop shot off a short ball. The right-handed batter did not move inside the line, but bent the back and scooped it fine over the ropes.

On the very next ball, Jamieson bowled at a length and the wicketkeeper-batter came down the track and muscled it over long-off. The ball did not come off the middle of the bat but still went the distance. The PBKS bowler tried to challenge Jitesh with the short ball earlier, but he just played the bowler’s mind and capitalised on it.

The Rajat Patidar-led team posted 190 in the first innings of the summit clash with Indian veteran Virat Kohli scoring 43 off 34. All of Mayank Agarwal, Rajat Paitdar, Jitesh and Livingstone scored in 20s but could not capitalise.

For PBKS, Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh picked up three wickets in their four-over spell while Azmatullah Omarzai, Yuzvendra Chahal and Vijaykumar Vyshak took one each. PBKS needed to chase 191 runs in the 2nd innings to win theĀ IPL 2025.

Notably, both the franchises came to the crucial clash with no changes in their playing XI, and are looking for their maiden IPL trophy.Ā
