When Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) face each other in Ahmedabad in the final of IPL 2025 on Tuesday, June 3, both teams will depend heavily on their premier batters, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer.

Let’s take a look at the records of these two batters in the IPL in Ahmedabad:

Virat Kohli has played six matches at this venue and, in six innings, he has scored 219 runs at a staggering average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 131.13. He has scored two fifties at this ground, with his best being an unbeaten 70 runs against Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2024.

Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, has played only three matches in Ahmedabad. In three innings, he has amassed 242 runs at an impressive strike rate of 226.16. He has scored half-centuries in all three matches, with his best being an unbeaten 97 runs, which he scored in the ongoing IPL against GT this season.

Kohli vs Iyer in three RCB vs PBKS encounters in IPL 2025 so far

Both Kohli and Iyer failed to perform in the first-leg encounter between PBKS and RCB this season. In the second leg, Iyer failed again, but Kohli played a match-winning knock alongside Devdutt Padikkal, scoring 73* runs off just 54 balls.

In Qualifier 1, both players failed once more. However, after Iyer’s outstanding unbeaten knock in Qualifier 2, PBKS fans will have high hopes for him in the final. As for Kohli, whenever he comes out to bat, fans always expect a big innings from him—and for RCB to lift their maiden title, his runs will be crucial.

In the race for the Orange Cap this season, Virat Kohli is in the fifth spot with 614 runs in 14 games while Shreyas Iyer is in the sixth position now with 603 runs in 16 games.
