Bruno Fernandes has asserted that he could leave Manchester United in the future after his club’s defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final.

Earlier on Wednesday (May 21), Manchester United crashed to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Tottenham at San Mames in Bilbao. Despite dominating possession and registering more shots than Spurs, they failed to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season.

In the 42nd minute of the clash, Brennan Johnson scored the important goal for Tottenham, who did not record a single shot in the second half.

After the end of the Europa League final, Fernandes was asked to opine on his Manchester United future with the club in 16th place in the league. He replied (h/t Metro):

The former Sporting CP and Udinese midfielder also shared his thoughts on Manchester United‘s coaching situation. The 30-year-old remarked:

So far this term, Fernandes has started 54 of his 56 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils. He has registered 19 goals and as many assists in 4,842 minutes of club action this season.

Following the UEFA Europa League final loss, Ruben Amorim insisted that he will not change his way of playing football. He said (h/t Metro):

Amorim, an ex-Sporting CP boss, has helped Manchester United register 16 victories and 17 defeats in 41 overall matches in charge of the team.

The Portuguese tactician has a deal until June 2027 at the Red Devils.
