Team India is on the verge to loose out on another major star player from its team. After Rohit Sharma announces his retirement from Test Cricket, news of Virat Kohli’s retirement from the same have emerged up. However, no official statement has been made either by Kohli or the BCCI itself.

Following news of Kohli’s retirement from test cricket emerged up, former Indian International Indian cricketer cum commentator Ambati Rayudu gives a heartfelt post on X requesting Kohli to think again on his decision.

“Virat Kohli please don’t retire.. The Indian team needs you more than ever. You have so much more in the tank. Test cricket will not be the same without you walking out to battle it out for Team India.. Please reconsider..,” the post read.

BCCI have also asked Kohli to reconsider his decision. However, during India’s Border-Gavasker Trophy which Team India lost to Australia, Kohli already showed his interests to retire since then. The news resurfaced this time after Sharma’s retirement.

What’s in for Kohli now?

As the fourth highest run-scorer in test cricket, Kohli’s statistics stands promising and is just 700 runs behind reaching the 10,000 mark.

India’s tour of England which is scheduled in the month of June will unexpectedly won’t have Kohli in the roster if his retirement gets confirmed.

As of now Kohli who has been busy with the IPL 2025 season had it’s team the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a good position to secure their first championship win. Through his valuable performances and experience, the team have been in a better position this year sitting in the second position of the points table.
