Following Operation Sindoor by the Indian Armed Forces in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 7, two cricket associations in India, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), received bomb threats via email.
Notably, CAB received the email during the ongoing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens. It has reportedly come from an unknown ID in the official inbox. As a result, the security at the stadium has been tightened further while the police is investigating the matter.
At the other end of the country, GCA received the threat via email as well. The Ahmedabad police has been informed and it is being alleged that the email came from a person based out of Pakistan.
“We will blast your stadium”, the email read from an ID named ‘Pakistan JK’.
