It was GT’s third win in a row, while SRH fell to their fourth defeat in as many matches. Here’s a breakdown of the match, the stars of the show, and the events that shaped this thrilling battle.

Gujarat Titans Are Brilliant with Bat and Ball

The Gujarat Titans star in both departments Batting first, SRH failed to find any momentum, ending on 152-8 in 20 overs. GT’s bowlers, spearheaded by Mohammed Siraj, restricted Hyderabad’s batting order in the first spell.

GT’s innings, meanwhile, had stellar knocks from Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar. Their clinical performance has put across a reminder of the fact that they are still a team to be reckoned with in IPL 2025.

The great SRH batting collapse started almost instantly. Travis Head fell for eight runs in the initial over, caught at mid-wicket off Siraj’s dispatch. A short while later, Abhishek Sharma hit out for 18 and holed out to mid-on.

Siraj’s fiery spell ensured the tone was set while the GT bowlers sustained pressure over the course. The match for SRH fans highlighted the lingering batting concerns that need immediate work.

Mohammed Siraj battered batting order:

Mohammed Siraj was the Player of the Match for his stunning figures of 4-17. He got early scalps, with Head and Sharma both gone in the powerplay. He later came back to grab a couple of wickets in the death overs.

His capacity to swing the ball and remain accurate was decisive. Siraj’s performance derailed SRH’s plans and left GT in a commanding position.

Siraj was well supported by Prasidh Krishna and R Sai Kishore. While Sai Kishore dismissed Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy, Krishna got rid of Ishan Kishan for 17. They ensured SRH couldn’t forge meaningful partnerships.

As a result, Hyderabad’s total appeared undercooked on a good batting surface.

SRH’s Inconsistent Batting Extends Over to CSK

The batting woes continued to haunt Sunrisers Hyderabad in this IPL SRH vs GT IPL 2025 clash. Klaasen, who made 27 off 19 balls but was unable to kick-start his innings after early wickets fell, also partnered with the Rabada in the first innings.

Reddy scored 31 runs off 34 balls before he mistimed a shot towards deep mid-wicket. SRH only crossed 150 on the back of a late cameo from captain Pat Cummins, who plundered 22 not out off nine balls. But this effort wasn’t enough to stifle GT’s disciplined attack.

Cummins’ cameo, with heavy blows, provided a glimmer of hope. However, SRH’s top order could not lay a strong platform. Their failure to adapt proved costly. Kishan’s inexpensive demise and Klaasen’s exit after a key interval took momentum strongly within the path of Gujarat, for instance.

Gujarat Titans’ Chase: A Staggering Start, A Soothing End(SRH vs GT IPL)

Gujarat Titans were threatened with an early scare while attempting to chase 153. Sai Sudharsan went for five, bowled by Mohammad Shami. Cummins then dismissed Jos Buttler for a duck, a brilliant delivery.

SRH were 16-2, and at that point they felt they had an opportunity to come back. But GT’s game changed when it promote Washington Sundar.

He struck 49 off 29 balls with five fours and two sixes. In the final over of the powerplay, he pummeled Simarjeet Singh for 22 runs. This aggressive approach put the pressure back onto SRH’s bowlers.

Meanwhile, skipper Shubman Gill stabilised the innings with an undefeated 61 off 43 balls, including nine fours. It was their 90-run partnership for the third wicket which made it a done deal for GT.

Sundar stars as Gill and Sundar shine(SRH vs GT IPL)

Gill’s steady innings was a statement of his leadership role and his batting ability. He paced the chase beautifully, placing GT comfortably ahead of the run rate. Sundar, in contrast, was flamboyant and aggressive.

The move up the order was a masterstroke by the GT brain tank. Together, they ripped apart SRH’s bowling ranks at will.

Later, Sherfane Rutherford partnered Gill and remained not out on 35 off 16 balls. His cameo was entertaining and included some powerful hits, that wrapped up the chase in style.

GT chased down the target with 20 balls remaining, indicating the depth in the batting unit. This win emphasized their capacity to come back from early adversity and control things afterwards.

Highlights of the match between SRH and GT

Some moments defined this IPL 2025 match SRH vs GT IPL. Early breakthroughs by Siraj put SRH on the backfoot. Cummins’ late cameo lifted Hyderabad to a competitive total. But Sundar’s explosive batting tilted the pendulum back in GT’s favour.

And also, Gill’s stable presence ensured there will not be any more hiccups in the chase. The game was a tale of woes on both sides of the ball each phase of the game.

This proved costly for SRH as they lost half their side by the 15th over. GT played on this weakness mercilessly. On the flip side, Glen Chapman and Romel Baduies’ determination to rebuild after losing two quick wickets was impressive.

Such moments turned the game into an interesting one for the IPL enthusiasts.

Mohammed Siraj’s Impact | Player of the Match

Siraj’s spell rightly won him the Player of the Match award. He picked four wickets, including the key those of SRH’s batting. He bowled with speed and accuracy, which made life difficult for the opposition. For all of Gill and Sundar’s exploits with the bat, Siraj’s foundations had GT’s victory written all over it.

SRH: Cummins bowled well, took a wicket and scored runs. Shami was pretty good with the ball, 2-28. Even so, Siraj’s dominance with ball in hand was a notable feature. From one matador to another, his performance illuminated yet again why he is a key figure in Gujarat’s setup.

IPL 2025: What’s Next For SRH And GT?

Sunrisers Hyderabad have difficult road ahead. They’re coming off four straight losses and need to bounce back fast. They need some consistency in their batting and the top order has to deliver.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans are in good touch with three consecutive wins. They’ll look to ride this momentum as the tournament continues.

For SRH, it is important to fix its batting vulnerabilities. GT, on the whole, will be concentrating on maintaining their all-round strength. While both have good squads, Gujarat are in better form at present. Fans of the league are excited for their return in IPL 2025.

GT vs SRH: Conclusion: Gujarat Titans Humilates SRH

Gujarat Titans overpowers SRH in this SRH vs GT game. Siraj and other bowlers helped reduce Hyderabad to 152-8. Then Gill and Sundar led the chase superbly, finishing off the chase with seven wickets remaining.

SRH’s woes continued as GT’s dominance only grew. This match, which took place in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 5, 2025, was a great display of IPL’s competitive spirit.
